Bigger than Britney!! - Get Britneys Look!

So I say 'nice' alot eeeek, this is the day that I met my new dear friend Ellie Tobin, you will see Ellie doing hair in the episode and was assisted by 'my little bit of Venezuelan' - Andrea Gomez, Andrea is a godsend and I thank her very much. I believe the Britney episode is on Monday 16th Jan.... over and out.

I worked on this a week or so ago with Will and Dylan aka the directing duo 32.
The model is the delightful Rebbecca Victoria who I met on the Magnetic Man video.
For Rebbeccas hair I used Sugar Shock from Tigi Candi fixations range and for the Tatoo i used up a lot of patience. The original was sketched by a friend of 32 up north Giulio Bigazzi you can see it below.

I worked on this video with my favorites 32. Will and Dylan. Here's Eugene McGuinness with LION. Got a sneaky listen to his new album in the car. Its Epic. He is definitely one to watch out for and what a talented dapper lad he is.
Art direction is beautiful in its simplicity and Pigeon shit starkness, I kid you not we stood in it all day.

I got to try out the Bed Head Tigi Candy Fixations range, I used loads of sugar dust to get a matte finish on the hair and the ferrel messy look combined with Sugar shock to enhance the natural movement of the hair, leaving it just perfectly unkempt.

So Yesterday I went to Purple PRs event of the aforementioned new product range, what a delight it was a magical world of irredescent candies, milk bottles, lollypops and Fizz....NOT Frizz.

Im not really one for my hair smelling like sweets but this stuff is divine, with products with yummy names such as Sugar Dust. Sugar Shock, Totally Baked, Mega Whip.. hair care straight from Charlies Chocolate Factory.

I came home with Carnaby Streets very own Denim Delicious Simone Clarke, whos hair I have bleached 3 times in as many days and is still as soft as babies. No volume Simone...Not anymore she left looking like a Cherish Madonna and padded down the street leaving a delicious trail of loveliness.

Check out the products. Candy Pin up girl has hair to dye for. Jealous! She looked every bit a Candy Fixation yesterday with great make up from Nina Fay Robinson, who I am proud to say that I taught once upon a time.

Here's the ever delicious Josh Quinton and Sami Knight having a lick of the Lolly. I'm not sure which josh was most pleased about coming across a giant lolly pop or the fact the goody bag went so well with his out fit! And the lovely Louie and mega babe Mimi sampling some good old fashioned confectionery on sticks.

WOLFGANG - The King and All His Men

GO ON WOLFGANG!! - I love these guys they are SO good live, you should definately catch one of their shows if you haven't already.

1 Day at Beachy head and 1 day in the Chislehurst Caves, something like 1500 or 15000 people lived in those caves during the war and apparently according to Geoff, Druids used to sacrifice women and children in there apparently it was an honor to be chosen.

Most haunted MUST have done an episode down there...but I'm not sure about that.

The tunnels stretch 22 miles underground. You can tour the caves with a guide. There is also a serious reenactment club next door. There were lots of Thor like characters munching on sandwiches, supping tea on the veranda with all sorts of artillery strapped to their backs. Of the plastic variety and Geoff a genuine tour guide should know, he's a retired cop from Texas. It was a bit like going on an educational school trip and making a music video. At Beachy head it was a bit like going on a hiking expedition and doing the same.

Anyhow, I got to spend 2 days with the lovely Aimee Croysdill (stylist) and Max and Aimee's assistant Leila Hartley, ANNNGUS, Dan and the rest....and fish and chips on the beach as the sun set.

So this was a pretty full on video shot on 2 days, my day was spent on Broadwater farm estate in Tottenham in various stairwells where Wretch 32 grew up and still lives. I was a bit thrown when the taxi driver refused to drive me on to the estate because he claimed it was too dangerous... well after a 10 minute debate he did.

So my characters were the goth ballet dancer and Jasmine that you would have previously seen on my blog in the Wiley video as a manga street dancer. Also Wretch 32 and Example in and around the estate and pirate radio station. Plus the amazing kid dancer.... the rest of the make up was down to Bianca Simone.
All in all another great video from Ben Newman well deserved winner of best new director at the VMA's

Id waited a while to work with James Copeman and here it is 'Dancing with the Devil' Wolfgang.

James pushed me into the creative darkness then apparently I went too far into the darkside, so we'll use that for something else.. Product wise I used a lot of Illamasqua that had been sent to me by Purple - I am now a big fan.

If youre not familiar with Wolfgang you should be. Massive tunes, they are great live I believe their off to South by South but you should definately catch a live show when theyre back in town.

A cheeky bunch these lot. So a day and night in the height of December outside in the rain freezing without the appropriate outerwear! The lovely Oonah Anderson Assisted me in her day glo trainers (so I wouldn't loose her in the dark) on this dark tale told by Nabil and produced by the lovely Helen Potter at RSA Black Dog. Cuts, bruises, mud, dirt, scratches and lots of blood, this was a fun one to get stuck into make up wise. We even got a Christmas dinner.

Oh and not forgetting an amazing cast that didn't complain once at me and Oonah continuously rubbing dirt off of the road and the forest floor into their hair, hands and faces!- that's right i didn't go for mud in a pot, I went for the real thing. as for the blood, that came out of a bottle.

I have waited a long time to blog this one. My first job with the talent that is Dan Sully and the day i met Daisy Lowe.

This is a great track from the mischievous Miles Kane.

Shot in Mildmay Mens club in Stoke Newington. Many characters, tatoo's lots of sweat spray and breaking up the skin tone to tell a gritty story with this cinematic video.

And Daisy Lowe - sigh - what an absolute joy to work with, definitely one of the most interesting, open, beautiful people that I was lucky enough to work with in 2010.

I also got to meet Ameena Kara Callender, currently working with Noel Feilding designing crazy fashion abstract madness...who is a wonder and model Angel, an absolute doll face.

Myself , Max, Ben (I got to make 2 new friends) Jam and Emily spent 3 days wonderful days with Ellie - Starting in a studio in South London for the recording of Your Song with Ben Lovett on piano - that was pretty moving as I doodled away in my sketch book. Then we went to Hereford to find the places that meant the most to Ellie when she was growing up , we hiked around Hereford and a bit about London.

I am very proud that my shot of Ellie made it to the final cut and really speechless to find myself in it.

This is a very special video, my favourite ever. Infact she's my favourite ever ...but I reckon you could guess that.....

I am so super lucky!!!

This time I had to design for 8 Leopardess', 8 Leopard trainers, 12 Drummer boys, 2 Aerialists, 2 Hoop dancers and 2 Fire eaters, all to be done in just over.............2 hours! That's 34 characters in 2 hours 15 mins!

So I enlisted the ever faithfull Susanna Peretz to head the Leopadess' team and 6 fabulous assistants pictured above from left to right may I present to you Verity Cumming ( in charge of all tears) Oonah Anderson in with the Leopardess team, Theressa Davis all over the drummer boys, Andrea Gomez the Venezuelan (she makes the best coffee) on the Leopardess team and Luisa Savioa who tamed the Leopard tamers, last but not least Elias Hove the 'Prince of Bleach' - team Leopardess.

I created lots of crazy Circus characters for Diana Vickers 'My wicked heart' brilliantly directed by Sarah Chatfield.

Brendan Robertson does Diana's beautiful hair and make up.

My favourite characters we're the drummer boys which included Sam Paul Evans drummer from my new band 'The Life The Love and the Grateful'. Hes on the left and that's Daniel on the right.

Well this was a long one and we did it for the LOVE. Ben Newman directed 'It's On' and Wiley's 'Take That' Ben likes to use make up in his videos and he let's me loose it on faces, that was the brief for this one, 'Japaneese huraniki ...mmnn...just go mad' and that is why I will always jump at the chance to work with him.

I used MAC triple fusion mineralize powder on the eyes to get a metallic soft finish picking up on the dusky tones running through Ellies hair.

And as for me...well..the show must go on, Ive already worked on GMTV . Chart Show, NME TV on crutches and a) Im not very good at the crutches b) stairs are proving an unlady like problem. I had to get a builder to give me a piggy back into Ellie's flat the other day, good job I had ditched the mini skirt!

Wow! Ellie totally smashed it at Glastonbury what an adventure I've had. Finally I have made it back home after sleeping on the tour bus and sharing 'The Machines' almost blown up bed all the while getting awfully lost. My phone died and I nearly ended up in Switzerland Another ridiculous couple of days!!!

Make up wise we discovered Topshop's lipstick 'Brighton Rocks' its matte and it stays on all day, perfect for such festival adventures.... although to be frank in my lost panic circling Glastonbury for 4 hours I didn't give a toss what I looked like....

Lets talk Needles

I have been really intrigued by reports of non ivavsive anti ageing facial accupunture or dare i say facelifts... I have been having accupunture for my back and period pains and felt for myself the amazing benifits of a few choicely placed pins.

So. I went to see Lilja Katanka to try this procedure out for myself.

Well, I lay on my back slightly nervous of the amount of needles that seemed to be laid ready for me all sizes tightly packed in their celephane shells.

Lil began on my ears tap tap tap then my hands feet and chest, so far so good.. you can build yourself up in anticipation for one of these needles but the prick is really awfully quick!

As Lil started to place them along my jaw, feeling the muscle then tapping it in I thought to myself..
a) this is definately worth £75 an session because its hardcore, you would not want anyone that didn't know what they were doing attempting this one, i also thought
b) jeez Lucy Wearing this is some new level of vanity as I'm being pinned down like some species of butterfly.

I told Lil,' I need a Dictaphone Lil so i can talk through this' she replied that soon I would find it difficult to talk anyway, surely not me i thought. Teeny tiny needles go in brow furrows and laughter lines they are so tiny they are tapped in with tweezers, By this point there was no way I could count how many I had in me they were everywhere in my neck. my scalp, . and boom... I fall into complete and utter deep relaxation like never before. woah.....

I awake as the pins are plucked out and a beautifully scented natural oil massaged onto my face, I pull myself up from the table and I'm astounded at how calm and relaxed I feel. Then I see for myself in the mirror that my eyes are a startling white (my eyes are never white) and I try to wrinkle up my brow but the furrows I have had forever are resistant to show themselves. My skin looks calm and more even toned my brow appears to have been lifted.

What magic is this!

It takes 12 sessions to complete the process and I have now had 6. The results are AMAZING, I don't know whether I thought that it would work. I couldn't really get my head round how it could work. But my skin is more luminous than when I was 15 pores are tightened, dark circles- what dark circles ? Any scars are fading away, my brows have definitely lifted, its much easier to apply my eyeliner, laughter lines are plumped, vanishing further everyday. I don't need to wear foundation, my skin is tighter but more than anything its the effect it has had on me psychologically that has suprised me the most and I whole heartedly couldn't recommend it enough. I feel centered and if you know me then you can imagine what a feat that is!

So Ill report back when I've had the 12 and until then here is some more informative information for you to read.

Living Doll - Blocking Out Eyebrows - THE FACE

Here's my Demo from June 2nd, I experimented and blocked out the eyebrows with wax, pressing in copius amounts of powder before full coverage using no sealor or spirit gum. It was a fairly successful method, however I dont think Ill be trying it again. Having no sealor allows the wax to become way too mailable its fine initially but there's no way you could keep it that way throughout a shoot or music video. When you have the sealor its also makes it easier to get a good blend of shadow / pigment.
Matte plastic sealor is the best RCMA the others are just too gloopy and visable.

The Brits 2010 Ellie Goulding - Critics Choice Award - SO PROUD

Well well well... the beautiful Ellie Goulding collected her Critics choice award from Courtney Love at the Brits. It was all really quite electric!! As I eventually scrambled to the Polydor table from the confines of what the press rather elaborately described as the back stage 'Spa' area I nearly had Jay Z's eye out with my set bag- and those JLS boys were suspended by wires like 4 arch angels, Earls court was positively heaving to the rafters with tiny candles and lights twinkling like stars.

After Ellie received her award there was a whirl wind of press and radio to steam through which she did with her usual wit and charm. Then on to the party at the Mandarin to celebrate which was a bit of a squashed affair and everybody....was there..even Lady GaGa ..and Im suprised no one got killed when she left, the paps went absolutely crazy.hysteria.

Ellie wore Burberry topped off with some amazing Jaeger shoes. She was a real life living doll!
